We’re Definitely In The Age Of Me, Me, Me As Former FSU Players Are Now Suing Leonard Hamilton Over NIL Payments

We’re suing our coaches now?

A total of six former players for the Florida State men’s basketball program are suing the current head coach Leonard Hamilton following an alleged promise he made to issue them a $1.5 million payment in NIL money for the 2023-24 season. The lawsuit was filed Monday morning.

Filed in Leon County, per Yahoo Sports, the complaint makes the allegation that Hamilton had promised his then-players Primo Spears, Jalen Warley, Josh Nickelberry, Cam’Ron Fletcher, De’Ante Green and Darin Green Jr. that they would be paid $250,000 each by “business partners” of his in order to play for FSU. But it’s not just the complaint about Hamilton allegedly promising to pay players and not doing so — the suit also goes into detail about players walking out of practice in order to boycott Hamilton and the Seminoles over those missed NIL payments. The players even threatened to boycott a game, per the lawsuit, which led to Hamilton allegedly making further promises that were also unfulfilled.

The complaint also features messages from multiple players claiming the money was needed for rent, car payments and taxes. The players even said it is affecting them on a mental level, according to the suit.

Me, me, me, that’s all these players are about today. I’ve got my own issues as a Miami Hurricanes fan with the Cam Ward nonsense, so I can most definitely relate to the irritation.

It’s honestly infuriating and sickening — who knew I could flip on Cam Ward so fast, but I did just like he did on us. Screw that guy.
