(news nation) — It may not be a “full disclosure,” but one lawmaker who has defended UFO whistleblowers is optimistic that some important information will come from it. Wednesday's House hearing on UFO/UAP.
“I think we're going to learn some things. It's like peeling back the layers of an onion.” Congressman Tim BurchettR-ten.
“The best pilots in the world, our nation's pilots, are telling us that these objects are flying very close to their aircraft,” Burchett told NewsNation Prime.
British experts listening to the hearing believe we will learn something, but not everything.
“Disclosure is a process, not a single event, so I don't think we're going to see a definitive 'this is it' explanation that ends on Wednesday.” nick pope UFO expert and former British Ministry of Defense official.
Pope, who also appeared on “NewsNation Prime,” specifically heard testimony from former U.S. Navy Admiral Tim Gallaudet, who knows about a part of the UFO/UAP issue that many people have never heard of: underwater phenomena. He said he was looking forward to it.
“This is…very sensitive because it clearly tracks some of our nuclear ballistic missile submarines,” he said.
Burchett agreed, adding that Gallaudet “has very convincing evidence.”
Two subcommittees of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee will hold a hearing on November 13th entitled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth.”
Many advocates for disclosure have high hopes for the new Trump administration in releasing files that have been kept secret for decades.
“He dropped serious hints that he knew something,” Pope said. “He's been under pressure to release the rest of the JFK files, and he's said he intends to do so early in his second term. Clearly, in President Trump's mind, the UFO issue is not the same as the JFK files. “We're linking it to the issue, but it's probably just in the public interest and the implication that there's a cover-up and a conspiracy,” Pope added.
Burchett is also optimistic that President Trump wants to share more of what government agencies have compiled over the decades.
“I hope so. That's the signal that's given to me. I'm confident that that's what he wants and that he trusts the American people,” he said. “President Trump will move toward full disclosure.”
