Jaxson Dart is going to have a tough fight to beat at least one New York radio host.
WFAN’s Gregg Giannotti went out to callers on Friday morning via the Giants’ Olemi quarterback selection in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, calling the dirt “Pudgy, Utah Clapper” and compared him to former Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral.
“Seriously. You’re a Giants fan, so you’re going to smoke all of their picks,” cried Giannotti. “He’s from Ole Miss like Eli!” You’re probably one of those who’d sat there and defended Daniel Jones for six years.
“He’s a sloppy Utah Clapper. ‘What game game with me?’ I knew what Zack Wilson saw, I knew he would suck! ”
Giants general manager Joe Shane backed up to the first round to get the dirt on his 25th pick, giving up the 34th and 99th picks in this draft, and snatching the dart in the 2026 Texans’ third round.
With Russell Wilson and Jamis Winston already being acquired this offseason, Dirt should have plenty of time to adjust to the NFL before taking the field.
For Giannotti, none of that was important. Nor did he see the dirt actually play football.
The caller asked if Giannotti had actually seen the Ole Miss game this season, the hosts seemed to indicate that he wasn’t, but insisted that it wasn’t the problem.
“How many Ole Miss Games did John Gruden watch for Jackson Dirt?” asked Giannotti. “And I’ll tell you now that I think he’ll stink.
“How many times have you seen him play Mike?!?” he told the caller by name. “How many times have you seen him? How many times?”
The “Boomer and Gio” host interrupted his rant by cultivating Lane Kiffin’s spotted record, who produced quarterbacks as head coaches (and ignored him coaching Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa as Alabama’s offensive coordinators).
“He’s the system quarterback for Lane Kiffin’s offensive,” Giannotti said. “I’m going to see Matt Corral. How did it go?”
