White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a press briefing Thursday that the United States has been clear that the ICC has no jurisdiction over the matter.

He went on to say that the government was deeply concerned about the rush by prosecutors to seek arrest warrants and the errors in the process that led to the ICC's decision.

“We fundamentally reject the court's decision to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials,” Jean-Pierre said. “We remain deeply concerned by the rush by prosecutors to seek arrest warrants and the troubling procedural errors that led to this decision.”

Jean-Pierre added that the United States is currently discussing next steps with partner countries, including Israel.
