Earl “Pearl” Thompson shared his thoughts on dating Shannon Beador from Bravo’s “Love Hotel,” expressing some regrets about how he handled their relationship prior to their breakup.
In a recent chat with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” the 59-year-old admitted that he wished he had addressed their first significant disagreement—his aversion to vegetables—more effectively.
Thompson noted that he typically claims to have allergies to avoid eating vegetables, but during their time together, this casual comment caused quite a stir. “I just sort of casually tossed that out, and it escalated quickly,” he reflected.
In one episode, which aired on May 11, the couple was faced with a four-course meal, prompting Thompson to reveal, “I don’t know why they gave me this. I don’t eat any vegetables.” Beador responded with surprise, asking, “What does it mean not to eat vegetables? Eating greenery is very important.”
“And pizza,” he added, trying to lighten the mood.
Despite their playful banter, the tension was palpable. Beador continued to prod him about his food preferences, while Thompson wondered aloud why he was consistently caught off guard by her remarks. Their back-and-forth led to Thompson labeling Beador as “critical” and even calling her a “f-King prick” during one tense moment.
Although their relationship was rocky, Thompson and Beador remained together until the end of the first season and even continued dating after production concluded in the fall of 2024, but they ultimately parted ways.
Now single, Thompson is open to dating again but mentioned that there are “specific vegetables” he actually likes, such as asparagus. He believes that when he reveals his allergy to women, it usually garners understanding.
Thompson mused how their relationship might have played out differently had he been able to cook for Beador during filming in Cabo San Lucas. “I enjoy cooking—I would have made a nice steak and a Caprese salad,” he said, reminiscing about the kind of meal he would have prepared for her.
Reflecting on their time together, Thompson felt that he was genuinely drawn to Beador, admitting that while there were alternatives available, his connection with her felt most special.
If he were to encounter Beador today, he anticipated a sincere conversation. “We could just sit down and talk,” he shared, fondly recalling moments with her family, including her dog and father.
