Friday should be a productive night for the Giants.

They have one pick in the second round (47th overall) and one pick in the third round (70th overall).

There is a clear need on the roster for a cornerback with starting potential, and that need will likely be addressed with one of these picks, most likely a second-round pick. .

Surprisingly, Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean was not selected in the first round, but could be a player the Giants could acquire in a trade.

There are other areas that need to be addressed.

Depth at offensive tackle is a concern, as is finding a safe starter.

With Saquon Barkley gone and Devin Singletary the only proven veteran on the roster, why not try a running back in the third round?

They don’t have a second-round pick, as they sent one to Green Bay in the Rodgers trade.

Their only pick is the third round, No. 72 overall.

The Jets gained additional draft capital in Thursday night’s trade with the Vikings, so they could trade to move into the second round if they wish.

The Jets, who had an offensive tackle in Game 1, will need to hit a wide receiver on Day 2.

If they play defense, safety will be a consideration.
