What happens to your car when you don’t move it for NYC block party

Last weekend, one driver learned a valuable lesson that most New Yorkers already know: They have to move their car on block party day.

A photo posted online after the annual Hausman Street Block Party in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on September 7 showed a silver Audi with New Mexico license plates being cruelly wrapped in saran wrap.

“No Parking on Saturdays” signs were posted on the windshield and rear window of the car.

A red Solo cup, a Silly String and food fragments were also found in the car.

The car was smeared with ketchup, mustard and other condiments and had a sticker of the face of an unidentified man with a mustache attached to it.

The inside of the car was wrapped in saran wrap and trash was scattered everywhere. Reddit @jinklos

“Growing up on that street, the block party is a long-standing tradition,” wrote one Reddit user commenting on the photo. “If you don't like it, maybe you should move your car before the block party.”

Most commenters believe the vehicle attack was the work of neighborhood kids and called it “mob justice.”

One Reddit user speculated that the car's owner may “never” return to New York. Reddit @jinklos

The Post was unable to locate the car's owner.

“That person will never come back to NYC again,” another commenter wrote.

While most people found the photo “hilarious,” some criticized how confusing it was.

“If the real owner becomes ill or disabled, [a] Senior.”
