What I Heard Kamala Say Was I Have Values, and if You Don’t Like Them, I Have Others

During Friday's broadcast of Fox News Channel's “Hannity,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-Louisiana) responded to CNN's joint interview with Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.).

Louisiana Republicans accused Harris of pandering in the interview.

“Senator, I really appreciate you being on Hannity,” substitute host Jason Chaffetz said. “Are you buying it? Are the people of Louisiana buying what she's selling?”

“Jason, I listened to the vice president's interview,” Kennedy responded, “I know her well, so I guess I'm biased. She's a good person, but I don't agree with her. I had two reactions to her interview. I wasn't surprised or impressed. I'm a very simple person. I like breakfast foods and honest answers. I didn't hear any honest answers from the vice president. What she basically said was, I have values, and if you don't like them, I have other values. I thought she engaged in level one pandering, like a wolf promising to go vegan if the sheep vote for her.”

“Now, now, in politics and in life, Jason, you know this, it's cheap to just pay lip service,” he continued. “Your actions are what you believe. Your actions are what you believe. And everything else is just cottage cheese. Like I said, I know the vice president very well. I worked with her for seven and a half years. I know what she would do as president. She's a San Francisco Democrat. She's a true member of the crazy wing of the Democratic Party. Well, Republicans aren't perfect, but the crazy wing of the Democratic Party is crazy. I've described Ms. Harris as AOC without the bartending experience, and I think that's accurate. She will govern like that, and I'm happy to talk about the details of her record. She has a record, but you've done pretty well yourself.”
