What I learned from my talk with Tucker Carlson

Tucker Carlson did exactly what no other Western journalist around the world would or could do for a long time. He traveled to Moscow to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin. And soon there was collective outrage: “Tucker Carlson is dangerous,” “He’s Putin’s lover,” “Will they ban him from returning?” “The European Union will sanction him.” Is it true?” –

The news was, and still is, kind of funny. Think of every war in history. Name the country and its leader and any worthy journalist will prevail and interview combatants on both sides.

Why is journalism now a crime for journalists?

But this war is different. The moment Tucker Carlson dares to talk to a world leader behind a war in which America is actively financing the other side, the knife goes out.

Don’t get me wrong. Putin is a bad guy. He is a ruthless killer who throws people off roofs. he is a dictator. And I don’t like other Russian leaders either. They are corrupt and dirty.

But I also don’t think Ukrainian leaders are really in this war for anything other than money and power. We don’t know where exactly billions of American taxpayer dollars have gone, but if we’re spending more in inflation-adjusted dollars than we spent on the Marshall Plan, something is wrong. .

Why are we forcing this?

I don’t want to support President Putin, and I don’t want to support the leader of Ukraine. But I also don’t trust Joe Biden and his administration. They are forever interfering in Russian and Ukrainian affairs.

So I can’t say I have a horse in this race and I don’t want to name any of the three horses. Because I still don’t trust him in any of the three. A proud American. That’s why we need to ask journalists the tough questions and put pressure on our leaders about what’s going on. Really it is continuing.that’s journalism teeth, And Tucker Carlson is one of the few who has the courage to do it.

Yet he is called a traitor. why?

Why is journalism now a crime for journalists? The media has forgotten something important about why it exists. Maybe the government didn’t know that. But open and free dialogue is the basis of a free society.

It is also the basis for building peace. Please discuss it with everyone. You don’t have to trust them. like they. But tell them. Understand where they are coming from. It’s all very basic.

And if anyone is criticizing Tucker Carlson for interviewing a man who is currently the leader of a country embroiled in a shadow war, perhaps you should ask Tucker what he thinks. unknown.

why did you do that? Why did you go? What do you mean you showed us? Moscow metro station? What did you learn? And what does that mean going forward?

That’s what we did. On Tuesday, Tucker Carlson joined a special edition of “The Glenn Beck Podcast” for his first interview since returning from Russia.

This wasn’t a softball interview. We couldn’t agree on everything, so I pushed back on the things I didn’t agree with, just like he did with me. But that’s the point. We had an open and free dialogue about the issues facing the world. That is the basis of a free society. Tucker Carlson is certainly that champion.
