What is the initial lineup for the 2025 Miami Grand Prix?

Miami, Fla. – Today marks the accumulation day at Hard Rock Stadium, where the starting grid for the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix is set for Sunday.

Despite the predictions made throughout the week, Max Verstappen is once again expected to take the top spot when the race begins later today.

After celebrating the arrival of his daughter with partner Kelly Pique, Verstappen made his way to Miami and secured pole position on Saturday, outperforming McLaren’s Rand Norris. Following them are young Mercedes talent Kimian Tonelli, who qualified third after an impressive performance in the Formula 1 sprint race, and the current drivers’ championship leader, Oscar Piastri.

The Williams team had a solid showing with Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz Jr. both finishing in the top ten. Sainz expressed his satisfaction with the pace of the FW47, noting that he was just “3/30” off pole in his sixth race with the team.

Meanwhile, Ferrari’s situation is less optimistic as both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc work to find the speed necessary to compete effectively.

At the back of the grid, Pierre Guthrie will start from the pit lane after qualifying in P18, as changes made to the suspension of his car necessitated this adjustment.
