What should the Bills do from here?

On Sunday night, history repeated itself again. For the third time in the last four years, the Bills' season has ended at the hands of the team. kansas city chiefs — this time at home, praying that erasing Buffalo's only volatile fan would change the fate of this rivalry.

At this point, it is clear that the status quo is not working. If the Bills want to get through this difficult situation, something It needs to change. Whether you want to stay the course and make small changes, or completely adjust your team's focus to move forward.

Today, I'll give my thoughts on where Buffalo should go in order to avoid wasting Josh Allen in his prime.

Bills did everything they could with Sean McDermott — James Deiter

It may sound harsh, but the Bills have won despite Sean McDermott, not because of him. This team has been a mixed bag offensively since Brian Daboll left for the Giants, and while defensively is touted as McDermott's core ability, the team has gotten even worse under his leadership.

McDermott's problems as a head coach continue to rear their ugly heads at the worst possible times. His bizarre fake punt call cost them the game against the Chiefs. No, McDermott can't make players run.He couldn't catch the ball from Stefon Diggs at a crucial moment; keep Then it's time to evaluate your team from the top down.

If the Bills want to take a step forward and compete in this modern NFL, they have to get younger. Not in the physical, but in the thinking in key coaching positions. Looking at how the Bills' offense operates, it's too often rooted in old-school football and looks slow compared to many of the top teams in the NFL. That's inexcusable when you have a quarterback like Josh Allen under center, and he can win as long as he has a little bit of support around him.

This is a pivotal moment for the Bills. They are in a horrible cap situation and are currently scheduled to be at $53 million that's all The cap will increase in 2024 and important personnel decisions will need to be made. Stefon Diggs is likely to hit the cap thanks to his huge contract, and so will Von Miller. The team is set to lose Gabe Davis to free agency, meaning the organization needs to find two top receivers.

These decisions must be made with smart offensive vision. I don't know if Joe Brady can do it, but I don't know if he'll at least have an offensive head coach to coach Brady.

Patience, not panic — Mark Schofield

Perhaps the most fascinating coaching decision in recent days. dallas cowboyscould be useful here.

After the Cowboys' crushing loss to the visiting team, the wheels were in motion for Jerry Jones to take rash and panicked action. green bay packers. Bill Belichick is there and available, and Dallas appears to have plateaued under Mike McCarthy. Clean house, bring in Belichick, and move forward with a new coach.

This was the exact scenario that many media outlets were pointing to at the time of Halloween.

But…that didn't happen.

McCarthy is back in his place, and Jones is preaching progress and patience.

Sure, the Bills could benefit from a new voice in the room, but it's a complement, not a takeover. Perhaps a new approach to defense with a new defensive coordinator could be an advantage. This organization has struggled against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, to be fair, but a lot of people have struggled. Get fresh ideas in the Defense Coaching Room.

Aggressively? Let's start by reorganizing Allen to help financially. Let's give Brady a full season to work on this offense and realize his vision. Add receivers around Diggs and this could be the perfect draft or free agent class to do just that.

There's a reason Bills fans are frustrated after Sunday. Many people are looking for large-scale change, and perhaps this is the path they will take.

After all, Belichick is here…

Sean McDermott needs to learn to let go — Matt Warren

As a lifelong Bills fan, I don't mean to discount their success over the past few years, but it's clear this group can't break the AFC logjam. In the playoffs, they are 0-3 against the Chiefs and also lost to the Bengals. Sean McDermott only appeared in one AFC Championship Game.

I wouldn't object if the Bills moved on from McDermott. I think he makes too many mistakes and he's also a defensive play-caller now. He was able to hold off Patrick Mahomes in the regular season, but in the playoffs, McDermott's mentor, Andy Reid, did the best job against the Bills. Mahomes made a lights out play..

I doubt they will fire him, so McDermott is going to have to be a Tiger with a change of attitude. He is a big fan of ball control that prevents opposing offenses from scoring. This will give him a better view of his defense. He wants to win traditional scoring games.. I think the Bills should try out the boat race people.

Stefon Diggs is nearing 30 points and Gabe Davis is a free agent. The Bills need to add a drafted receiver to the mix to be their new alpha. Diggs' perfect drop off of Josh Allen's pass was the final indicator that the time had come. The rookie trio of Diggs and Khalil Shakir is a formidable wideout group alongside 2023 first-rounders Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, with James Cook coming out of the backfield.

Let Joe Brady, or whoever you hire for the offensive coordinator job, fix the problem and get the ball into the hands of the best player possible. We're going to score 38 points per game, so you have to score more.
