‘What The F*ck?’: Singer Appears To Throw Punch At Guitarist During Jane’s Addiction Reunion Tour Performance

Perry Farrell, frontman for the alternative rock band Jane's Addiction, punched guitarist Dave Navarro during a concert in Boston on Friday, Variety reported.

The recently reformed band abruptly cancelled the show after a visibly enraged Pharrell confronted Navarro onstage, throwing a right punch before staff members restrained him. According to To variety.

Variety reports that the band had been performing “Ocean Size” when the two musicians got into an altercation, but some social media users claimed tensions seemed to be building as the song progressed. The video shows Farrell approaching Navarro and verbally abusing him, then Navarro is seen raising his arms to try and subdue Farrell, who appears to push him back, then Farrell appears to push Navarro away with his left arm and punch Farrell in the chest with his right hand.

Navarro then leaves, putting his guitar down, and crew members are seen rushing in to restrain Pharrell.

Farrell's wife, Etty Lou Farrell, posted her own take on the incident on Saturday morning. Instagram.

In her post, Etty Lu claims that Pharrell was upset that the volume on stage was drowning out his voice, and she says tensions had been building for days.[b]But Perry became infuriated when a fan in the front row began yelling abuse at him, saying they couldn't hear the band because it was too loud.”

While Navarro responded to Pharrell's aggressive behavior with a “What the?,” Etty Lu praised the guitarist for keeping his cool, but she didn't have kind words for bassist Eric Avery, who punched Pharrell three times after putting him in a headlock.

The band apologized on Saturday and announced it was canceling that night's show in Bridgeport, Connecticut, without giving further details about the tour.

Jane's Addiction has had its fair share of struggles over the years, according to Variety, who reports that the band broke up in 1991 at the height of their popularity after organizing and headlining the Lollapalooza tour.

The band has reunited several times, but according to Variety, old tensions never seem to ease.
