As the conflict between Hamas and Israel escalates, one person’s name has started trending on X: Major General Daniel Hagari, the Israel Defense Forces’ chief of public affairs who has “tried to show the world the real picture of Gaza.”

In the interview, the admiral said, “Anyone who thinks it’s possible to destroy Hamas is wrong. Hamas is an idea. Anyone who thinks it’s possible to eliminate it is wrong.”
Glenn politely disagrees.

“No, that’s wrong,” he said. “Hamas is not just an idea. An idea grows and grows until it becomes almost a reality.”

“I think this was a huge morale boost for Hamas, but it was poisonous to Israeli morale,” he said, recalling Hagari’s comments.
