Texas is known as a conservative state and is often seen as a beacon of freedom amidst the storm of destructive, radical left-wing activity that is destroying the country. But that reputation is changing, and unfortunately, our Republican lawmakers are leading the effort to undermine conservative values and interests in our great state.
Last year's ridiculous effort to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton was one of the most egregious, but it was certainly not the only example of elected Republicans failing to represent conservative voters. These unscrupulous establishment actors frequently introduce policies into the Democratic Party that are directly contrary to conservative priorities, and are often not held accountable for disappointing voters. That needs to change.
Paxton's impeachment effort was not the only vote that exposed how uninterested our nation's representatives are in promoting conservative values and priorities.
What happened to Paxton should horrify every conservative in America. Arguably the hardest-working and most capable Republican attorney general in the nation, Mr. Paxton will fight to protect Texas' conservative values and priorities, protect us from an authoritarian federal government, and protect us from our freedom. has advanced. Texans think highly of him. That's why 4.2 million of us re-elected him to continue fighting for us.
Then Republicans in the Texas House thought they could weaken the will of the voters and impeach him without evidence or sworn testimony, perhaps because his hard work and tenacity threatened their power and agenda. They wasted time and millions of taxpayer dollars on initiatives that directly contradict the values and priorities of their constituents and the interests of the nation. Yet they call themselves our “representatives.”
Democrats aren't technically in charge, but they have enough corrupt and selfish allies among establishment Republicans that their policies will move forward anyway. Paxton's impeachment effort was not the only vote that exposed how uninterested our nation's representatives are in promoting conservative values and priorities.
Another pivotal vote by disloyal Republicans was to install Dade Phelan as Speaker of the Texas House. This vote not only supported corrupt establishmentism and nepotism within Congress, but he also appointed Democrats to committee chairs and key leadership positions, undermining conservative principles and making them the antithesis of those values. It paved the way for people representing the United States to be placed in positions of influence. Real representatives will not support someone who uplifts those who hate us, our state, and our nation.
This opens the door for corrupt activist politicians to undermine bills and initiatives that are in the best interest of Texans and conservative values. Several important bills stall as establishment Republicans join forces with activist Democrats to support agendas such as radical transgender and LGBTQ movements that actively target children. We don't celebrate or promote anorexia or schizophrenia, so why are our “representatives” toying with gender dysphoria?
Several Republicans voted in favor of supporting the transition of transgender people by allowing funding for hospitals that perform amputations on children. To make matters worse, a bill that would have required insurance companies to at least cover detransition costs when people are mutilated for the purposes of extremist activists has been repealed. Both of these votes were made in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and were in direct contradiction to conservative values and the best interests of vulnerable children.
When our “representatives” fail to vote down important bills or pass dangerous bills, they waste taxpayer time and money on pointless efforts to inform voters of virtue. in order to keep us from realizing whose interests they are really serving.
Instead of taking serious steps to stop the devastating illegal immigration crisis, our lawmakers have reclassified assault charges for mass shootings, raised the charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm as a felon, and are bickering over unimportant laws that encourage illegal immigrant housing development. Line the pockets of friends and family with money. These are not policies that will help hard-working Texans make a living, but they are clearly the best our “representatives” can do.
The erosion of conservative values in Texas should be a wake-up call for voters across the country, especially in Texas. Decent, hard-working people are better off than politicians who seize power and push radical policies while pretending to work for the people who trust them to protect their freedoms and the American way of life. should also be in a better position.
We hope that Texans will rise to the occasion and build upon our nation, reaffirming the principles that have long defined our great nation and shaped us into the greatest, freest, and most prosperous nation. Attention is being paid to whether they will demand responsibility for the many failures of their “representatives.” world.Remember, this is a republic. if you can keep it.
