“Wheel of Fortune” fans often have passionate reactions to the game show, but one contestant received more criticism than usual after failing to solve the final puzzle.
In a recent episode, a woman named Tarhea won the game and chose the “Food and Drink” category in the bonus round. She read from the letter given to her and the letter she chose that the puzzle she needed to solve read “BAGELS &___G_N_TS”.
She guessed “bagels and beignets” and “bagels and croissants,” but the correct answer was “bagels and donuts.”

“You know a lot of stores are getting rid of the correct spelling, and maybe you are too…” host Pat Sajak said, as Talhair screamed.
Holding up his prize envelope, he continued, “Now you have to peek in here and see what you didn't get.” When he opens it, it is revealed that she has a chance to win a BMW.
Talhair began stomping his feet in disappointment, but went home with his winnings from the game, totaling $25,898.
Sajak said he was sorry he couldn't take home the grand prize, but “Wheel of Fortune” fans weren't so kind.
“Bagels and beignets over bagels and donuts? Are you crazy?” one viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Has anyone seen that chick from Wheel of Fortune?” read another post on social media. “She had a BMW right there and she couldn't say bagels or donuts. I was screaming at the fucking TV, poor girl.”
“She couldn't figure this out. She kept saying 'bagels and beignets'. I hate this shit show,” another viewer wrote, along with a shot of an unsolved puzzle.
Yet another complaint read: “It was bagels and donuts, you idiot, how did you go wrong?”

As Sajak noted, Talhair's loss marks the fourth time in the past week that a contestant has chosen the BMW envelope but did not win.
“So even if you don't get it all week, I think you'll get it,” he joked.

In another episode this month, fans were furious after a contestant mispronounced a word and was not given credit for solving a puzzle.
Contestant Shona did great by guessing the letters of the puzzle in the 'Same Letters' category. Although she gave her name to her letters until she filled out the entire phrase, “Her congenial companions and wise conversation,” Sajak When I asked her to read her answer out loud, she mispronounced the first word.

“No,” Sajak simply told her before moving on to the next contestant. He made the correct pronunciation and was given points.
