Season 3 of the Show Has Finally Premiered

The long-awaited premiere of Season 3 has arrived, marking the end of an era and, perhaps, the beginning of new challenges. We’re getting ready for some tough times ahead.

When we last checked in with our favorite characters on Apple TV, things were quite eventful. Alice, played by Lukita Maxwell, is graduating high school, while Randy, portrayed by Jeff Daniels, disappoints his son by missing the ceremony. Liz (Christa Miller) and Derek (Ted McGinley) are thrilled about becoming “young grandparents,” Sean (Luke Tenney) has exciting job prospects, Brian (Michael Urie) is off to Tennessee, and the emotional weight shared between Jimmy (Jason Segel) and Paul (Harrison Ford) really pulls at our heartstrings!

The last episode left us with Jimmy’s anger directed at Paul, who compelled his mentor and father to relocate to Connecticut, all without resolving their issues or saying their goodbyes. So, what does the final episode have in store?

According to Apple TV’s synopsis, Season 3, Episode 11, titled “And It’s Our Time,” tells us: “As Alice heads to college, Jimmy seeks to mend relationships before it’s too late. Gaby makes a surprising discovery.” Now, when can we watch the finale?

Tonight, April 7th. But at what time? When will Episode 11 be available on Apple TV? How many episodes are in Season 3? And what about a potential Season 4? Plus, will Harrison Ford leave early? Lots of questions to ponder!

How Many Episodes in Season 3?

Season 1 boasted 10 episodes, while Season 2 had 12. Season 3, on the other hand, includes 11 episodes.

When Is the Season 3 Finale?

The finale, officially Season 3, Episode 11, is set to premiere on Apple TV on Wednesday, April 8th. But for Apple TV subscribers in different time zones, episodes may become available a bit earlier. What does that mean for you?

What Time Will It Be Available?

Typically, Apple TV drops new episodes at 9 PM ET. So mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 7th, at that time, especially if you’re eager to catch the finale.

Will There Be a Season 4?

Earlier today, just before the impressive Season 3 premiere, Apple TV officially renewed the show for Season 4. Co-creator Bill Lawrence hinted at what’s next, saying he’s excited about launching an entirely new story next year. He described it as both thrilling and a bit unnerving. Originally, they planned a three-season arc focused on themes of shrinking, grieving, forgiveness, and moving forward.

After some fan confusion regarding the “new story,” the showrunner clarified that if Jimmy returned in Season 4 still mourning his wife, it wouldn’t feel right. They’re leaning towards a time jump, keeping the same cast but exploring fresh narratives.

Is Harrison Ford Leaving?

With the finale approaching, fans can’t help but worry: will Harrison Ford exit the show? This concern grew when Paul decided to retire and move to Connecticut in the previous episode. But fear not; Lawrence reassured viewers that the “same gang” means all of the original cast will return next year.

“He has no plans to leave the show,” emphasized the co-creator. “It’s telling that Alice goes to college in Connecticut.” The show’s setting in Connecticut opens up enticing possibilities for future storylines, such as potential visits between Paul and Alice and whether Gaby can resist her aversion to boat shoes.

As a Connecticut resident, I find this intriguing. I’m eager to see more about Paul’s life and how he interacts with family and technology. I can’t wait to see what they plan for Season 4, so stay tuned for more updates!
