Beatles Anthology Arriving This Thanksgiving on Disney+
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and along with the holiday festivities, Disney+ will be launching a fresh batch of Beatles content suitable for everyone. This year, it features a newly restored edition of the legendary Beatles Anthology, an eight-part documentary series first aired in 1995 on ABC.
The original series was crafted by co-directors Bob Smeaton and Geoff Wonfor, who sifted through countless hours of archival footage and audio provided by the band’s long-time friend and manager, Neil Aspinall. It includes in-depth interviews with the surviving Beatles at the time: Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. For many, this is considered the ultimate documentary about the Beatles. It also coincided with a four-volume double album featuring previously unreleased interviews and alternate takes of the band’s iconic hits.
The updated version of Beatles Anthology has been enhanced in high definition, courtesy of Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Studios in Wellington, New Zealand. This new release includes an added ninth episode featuring McCartney, Harrison, and Starr reuniting in the ’90s to produce new songs like “Free as Bird,” “Real Love,” and “Now and Then.” Although, if you’re a fan of the Anthology, you may recognize some of this footage from the DVD extras.

Release Dates for Beatles Anthology on Disney+
The Beatles Anthology will debut in three parts on Disney+ over Thanksgiving weekend: November 26th, 27th, and 28th.
Episodes 1, 2, and 3 will premiere on November 26th, followed by Episodes 4, 5, and 6 on November 27th. Finally, Episodes 7, 8, and 9 will become available on November 28th. The ninth episode, in particular, offers never-before-seen footage of McCartney, Harrison, and Starr during the making of the original series and includes segments of them recording new songs.
When to Expect New Episodes on Disney+
New releases on Disney+ typically launch at 3 a.m. ET or midnight PT on their release dates.
So, you can look forward to Episodes 1-3 being available on Disney+ on November 26th at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET. Episodes 4-6 will drop on November 27th, while Episodes 7-9 will be released on November 28th at the same times.
