When will White Sox win next game?

Oddsmakers in Las Vegas are enjoying one of the saddest teams in MLB history.

The White Sox head into this weekend’s series against the Twins with a 27-84 record, the worst in the major leagues, and are on a franchise-record 17-game losing streak.

FanDuel Sportsbook is cashing in on the historic losing streak by offering odds on when the South Side Chicago team will win next.

The White Sox are +210 odds to end the streak on Friday against Minnesota, but their best chance to end their misery will come when they travel to Oakland early next week to take on the Athletics, who have the fourth-worst record in the major leagues.

The team will then return to the Windy City to host the city rivals, the Cubs, for two games before taking on the Yankees for three games.

If they don’t win Game 1 against the Cubs, they’ll tie the 23-game losing streak set by the Phillies in 1961.

FanDuel projects the White Sox at +8000 to go winless until August 14th, at which point their losing streak will stretch to 28 games.

Few events have paralleled what has happened on the South Side this season.

The White Sox are currently 57 games under .500.

The Mets are on pace to go 39-123, which would surpass their worst record in the modern MLB era (since 1900), which was 40-120 in their inaugural season in 1962.

This season will be the White Sox’ worst in franchise history, almost certainly surpassing the 1970 season when they suffered 106 losses.

They also lost 14 straight games earlier this season, becoming just the fourth team since 1901 to suffer two straight losing seasons, joining the 1911 Boston Rustlers, the 1935 Boston Rustlers and the 2021 Baltimore Orioles.
