Charlamagne Tha God Critiques Trump After Mueller’s Death

Leonard McKelvey, more popularly known as Charlamagne Tha God, a notable radio host and podcaster, didn’t hold back during a recent rant where he took aim at President Donald Trump. Drawing on harsh memories from his childhood, he ominously declared that if Trump were to pass away, people might treat it like a celebration, much like Mardi Gras.

This tirade was sparked by President Trump’s comments regarding the recent death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who was also involved in the investigation surrounding the so-called Russiagate scandal.

To give some context, on Saturday, Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social, saying, “Robert Mueller just died,” and added, “Thank goodness he’s dead. He can’t hurt innocent people anymore!”

During Monday’s episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne responded, noting that Trump remained consistent in his rhetoric. “If he didn’t like you when you were alive, there’s no need to pretend otherwise when you’re gone,” he stated.

Charlamagne pointed out what he considered hypocrisy from Trump, who previously described those celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk as “sick” and “crazy.” He remarked, “I’m not going to fall into the hypocrisy of saying this and being angry at people who mocked Charlie Kirk’s death.”

Continuing his critique, Charlamagne suggested that if Trump genuinely cared about his legacy, his current behavior might jeopardize it. He warned, “You’re putting yourself in a situation where if you pass, people might celebrate like it’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans.”

He further questioned Trump’s thoughts on how he would be remembered: “What will people say about you when you die, Mr. President? It doesn’t matter how many buildings you name. They can create holidays, but none of it holds weight.”

Charlamagne also posed reflective questions about Trump’s family, asking if he cared how his son Barron, wife Melania, or grandchildren would view him after his death.

He mentioned that Trump might not realize the celebratory reactions that could follow his death, adding, “If you think Donald Trump’s crude tweets about Robert Mueller are bad, just wait and see social media when he dies.”

However, Charlamagne’s remarks might miss a critical angle. The left’s responses to incidents involving politically motivated assassinations suggest Trump is aware that no matter his approach, radical left-wing individuals will respond harshly. This understanding may allow Trump to speak freely without feeling the need to cater to those who adopt extreme viewpoints.

Furthermore, Trump has witnessed the left’s reactions to unsuccessful assassination attempts during the 2024 campaign, reinforcing a belief that moderation won’t change their animosity toward differing political perspectives.
