Where has this offense been all season?

A review of the Giants' 45-33 victory over the Colts on Sunday at MetLife Stadium:

offense

Where on earth was this during the season?

The overall numbers were astonishing.

He had 446 total yards, 25 first downs, 7 of 13 third down conversions and 33:23 of possession.

Drew Lock?

Oops.

He completed 17 of 23 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns.

He also ran as a TD candidate.

His passer rating was 155.3.

Well, there was the run-and-catch feature that was missing until now.

Malik Nabors (7-171, 2 TDs) made a quick hitch and ran 32 yards for a touchdown, and Darius Slayton kept things balanced with a 32-yard scoring play.

Wandale Robinson (5-71, 1 TD) kept the game moving.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. (20-59) couldn't do much other than a 40-yard burst. The lock was not released.

Midway through the second quarter, tight end Daniel Bellinger received a 15-yard chop block penalty.

RG Jake Kubas jumped on a false start from the Indy 1-yard line, and Evan Neal was called for an illegal man downfield penalty.

Not having any turnovers was a big plus.

Grade: A.

defense

This is a deviation from the norm.

This unit certainly wasn't great, but it bailed out and was eventually able to make some plays.

Jonathan Taylor (32-125, 2 TD) did his damage, but only averaged 3.9 yards per attempt.

At 39 years old, Joe Flacco (26 of 38, 330 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs) may still be able to chuck into his 50s.

Michael Pittman (9-109, 1 TD) and Alec Pierce (6-122, 1 TD) were always in trouble.

CB Deonte Banks doesn't trust his technique in important situations.

He was isolated on the field with Pierce and was assessed a 44-yard pass interference penalty.

Banks then gained 19 yards on pass interference.

S Dane Belton showed off his skill with a diving interception in the first quarter.

Rakeem Nunez-Roches sacked Flacco, forcing the Colts to settle for a field goal in the first quarter.

Brian Burns had two tackles for loss on Taylor late in the first half. DT Elijah Chatman had a scoreless 4-1 stop of Taylor.

Rookie Drew Phillips made the game-clinching interception. Kayvon Thibodeau had a strip sack in the second half.

Grade: C.

special teams

Ihimir Smith-Marsette has quietly been a solid addition to the team as a returner, making headlines by returning the kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in the second half.

He was unharmed.

Jamie Gillan's first punt went 48 yards with no return, and his three punts averaged 48.7 yards.

Graham Gano made a 30-yard field goal and converted all five of his extra point attempts.

Grade: A.

coaching

Oh, did Brian Daboll need this?

He has kept the team together and the loss was a huge blow to everyone.

Daboll said his time with Rock was rough throughout, but it proved to be the tough love that was needed.

Daboll wisely relied on the running game early on to limit Lock's exposure in the passing game.

Lock did his damage by making just 23 passes compared to 30 running plays.

Late in the third quarter, I thought Daboll's attempt on fourth-and-2 from his own 42-yard line was too extreme.

Shane Bowen's defense couldn't give Flacco much heat.

Grade: B+.
