Dead keeps on running.
Dead & Company featuring John Mayer have announced six more concerts in August as part of their ongoing “Dead Forever” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
Their new show will run August 1-3 and 8-10.
“We’re having a great time at Sphere Vegas so let’s keep it going! See you the remaining two weeks of August,” the group shared. Instagram.
The residency, which began May 16, sees the notoriously unpredictable Dead stepping outside their usual territory and mixing up set lists at every show. Setlist FM.
This comes on the heels of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band’s farewell tour in 2023. Until January 31, it seemed like the Dead were done with live shows. But now they’re back! Instagram Posts “2023 marks the final time Dead & Company has toured,” the band wrote, “but there will be other ways to ensure the music never stops, and they will be amazing.”

Dead & Company concert review
Last summer, the New York Post’s regular Deadhead Ryan Murphy saw Dead & Company perform at Citi Field.
“They were focused on the music and the breakup throughout the four-hour performance,” Murphy noted.

A massive jam band touring in 2024
Dead & Company essentially created the template for freewheeling, improvisational rock in the ’60s.
Over the years, many artists have followed their lead and created their own unique spectacles where no two set lists are ever the same.
Here are five of our favourite shows you won’t want to miss this year.
• Phishing
• Dave Matthews Band
• The String Cheese Incident
• Moe.
• Widespread panic
