The Foo Fighters are set to rock again. After a quiet 2025, where they performed just nine shows so far, the band is gearing up for its “Take Cover Tour.” They’ll be hitting stadiums across North America, with special guests like Queens of the Stone Age, Mannequin Pussy, and Gouge Away in August and September of 2026.
However, it looks like they’ll skip summer shows in New York, with their closest performance being on August 13 in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.
Dave Grohl mentioned in a recent press statement, “Returning to the San Luis Obispo stage reminded us why we cherish this band. We’ve reached 30 years of songs, reuniting and reconnecting with our amazing fans. Our core strength lies with them.” He seemed pretty enthusiastic about their journey ahead.
Before announcing the tour, the band dropped two singles: “Today’s Song” in July and “Asking For A Friend” in October. There’s been no word on a new album yet, but Grohl hinted that “Asking For A Friend” is just one of many tracks on the way.
Fans can snag tickets for the Foo Fighters’ shows in the U.S. and Canada starting Friday, October 31st. Just a heads-up: ticket prices can vary greatly depending on demand.

Foo Fighters new songs
This year, they’ve released two singles. “Today’s Song” starts off contemplative and builds to an intense finish. As for the 2025 shows, they haven’t integrated any new tracks yet, but it will be interesting to see if these songs make the cut for the 2026 setlist.
The other single, “Asking For A Friend,” features Grohl’s powerful vocals paired with a heavy instrumental breakdown, making it a track you’ll likely keep on repeat.
Foo Fighters special guests
Each concert on this tour will feature special guests from the alternative rock scene. Here are some highlights of the bands joining them:
- Queens of the Stone Age: “Nobody Knows”
- Mannequin Pussy: “Romantic”
- Gouge Away: “Ghost”
Queens of the Stone Age are currently on their tour supporting their new EP, “Catacombs.” Reviews of their performances have noted their lasting impact, even if you might not feel the urge to rock out.
Foo Fighters band members
There were some changes behind the scenes. After bringing in Josh Freese to replace the late Taylor Hawkins, they later had to let him go due to an injury, and Ilan Rubin, a seasoned drummer from Nine Inch Nails, will take over.
As for the lineup, it remains strong with Dave Grohl on lead vocals, Pat Smear on guitar, Chris Shiflett on guitar, Nate Mendel on bass, Rami Jaffee on keyboards, and now Ilan Rubin on drums.
Dave Grohl controversy
In September 2024, Grohl’s personal life made headlines when it was revealed that he had fathered three children outside of his marriage. He stated he loves his wife and is committed to mending their relationship, which has been challenging but essential for their family.
His wife, Jordyn Blum, confirmed months later that she has forgiven him and they are working on restoring trust and their family unit.
