In the kitchen, we find Cavontibodeau, a linebacker for the New York Giants, showcasing his culinary talents in the series “My Passion.” At just 24, this NFL player is attempting a spicy recipe for the first time, guided by host and former Giants player Brandon London, who plays the role of sous chef and taste tester.

The dish of the day is spicy Calabrian spaghetti paired with Japanese beef meatballs.

“Cooking pasta has always been important to me,” Cavontibodeau shared while preparing the meal in London. Reflecting on his childhood in southern Los Angeles, he recalled how his mother, Seanta Royce, made pasta multiple times a week. She remains his biggest supporter and, at times, his toughest critic in the kitchen.

His culinary journey took an interesting turn when he reached college. Like many students, his early cooking experiences mostly involved fried foods and the typical dorm fare. Thankfully, his skills have since evolved, and he now focuses on healthier options.

This brings us to the addition of Japanese beef. There’s a video showcasing the final outcome of the recipe, complete with tasting insights from the filming crew. “I’m Italian, and I’m here for Italian approval,” commented producer Juliana Toudau.
