The highest office in the Homeland Security Authority was terminated after Kim Kardashian criticized the actions of immigration and customs enforcement, labeling them as “inhuman.”
In a post on X, DHS Secretary Assistant Tricia McLaughlin responded directly to Kardashian with a provocative question: “@kimkardashian, which of these convicted child molesters, murderers, drug traffickers, rapists would you like to stay in the country?”
McLaughlin’s post showcased mugshots and details of four illegal immigrants recently detained by ICE.
These included Eswin Uriel Castro, deported prior to being criminally convicted of child abuse and possessing dangerous weapons; Gerald Antonio Palacios, a Mexican national with prior convictions for murder and robbery; Antonio Benitez Augalte, also from Mexico, previously convicted of drug trafficking; and Mabu Kleb, a 53-year-old illegal immigrant from Cambodia, with a history of possession of controlled substances and inappropriate behavior with minors.
“These are just a few of the illegal offenders picked up in the last 72 hours,” McLaughlin remarked.
Kardashian, 44, took to Instagram Stories to assert that Americans “have to speak up” and “do the right thing” concerning the deportation initiatives under the Trump administration.
She acknowledged that, while ICE’s purpose is described as ensuring national safety by eliminating violent criminals, it becomes a serious issue when innocent, hardworking individuals are separated from their families. “We need to address it,” she emphasized.
As a native of Los Angeles, she noted, “We see how deeply woven immigration is in the fabric of this city.”
Kardashian reiterated, “They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, colleagues, family. Regardless of where you stand politically, it’s clear that our community is thriving due to the contributions from immigration.”
She concluded with a powerful statement about fear and injustice preventing people from living freely, urging that “there must be a better way.”
The riots in Los Angeles began after ICE agents conducted operations in the downtown fashion district. In response to the unrest, President Trump deployed the National Guard and U.S. Marines to safeguard federal agents from protesters.
