Which team faces the toughest schedule?

If you’ve noticed that going through the Giants’ 2025 schedule feels like a string of “losses,” there’s a valid reason to doubt their prospects for the upcoming season.

The Giants are facing the toughest schedule in the NFL for 2025, based on last year’s win percentage of .547, despite a lackluster finish at the bottom of the NFC East. This analysis comes from Yahoo.

In contrast, the 49ers, who also finished last in their division, will have the easiest path with an opposing win percentage of just .415.

Meanwhile, the Jets are looking at the seventh most challenging schedule, marked by a .460 win percentage of their opponents.

Interestingly, all eight of the hardest schedules belong to teams in the NFC East and NFC North, with the Giants and Bears both experiencing particularly tough matchups, each sitting at .571.

The opposing win rates reflect the competitive landscape within their divisions, with the champion Lions also tied to the Bears in difficulty.

The Giants are set to face off against the Cowboys, Eagles, and Commanders a total of six times, having recorded a disappointing 33-18 against them last season, going 0-6 against this trio.

The Bears’ schedule includes six matchups against the Packers, Lions, and Vikings, who collectively boasted a 40-11 record, complicating their path as well.

A major factor for the Giants is their 14 games versus teams from the divisions that had the highest win percentages last season.

In 2025, the NFC East will face the two divisions—AFC West and NFC North—that saw the most success, with the NFC North ending with a 45-23 record and the AFC West at 40-28, bolstered by three playoff contenders.

As it stands, this looks like a brutal schedule for the organization under the guidance of GM Joe Shane and head coach Brian Daboll.

Still, there’s a crucial caveat here: past performance doesn’t always predict future results.

Many expected the 49ers to show resilience following their Super Bowl run. However, injuries hindered their performance, leaving them at the bottom of the NFC West.

The Jets had high hopes as well but faced significant challenges, including more coaching changes than victories.

On another note, the Vikings were anticipated to struggle but surprisingly won 14 games instead.
