Whistleblower Testifies on COVID-19 Cover-Up Allegations
On Wednesday, CIA whistleblower James Erdman III appeared before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, claiming that there was a deliberate effort by federal agents to silence scientists questioning the origins of COVID-19 during its earliest days in 2020.
Interestingly, there were no Democratic senators present at the hearing.
Erdman, a veteran and former intelligence officer, testified shortly after the statute of limitations lapsed concerning a potential indictment against Dr. Anthony Fauci for allegedly misleading Congress back in 2021.
Besides his intelligence credentials, Erdman is involved in a grassroots group called “Feds For Freedom,” which aims to challenge federal vaccine mandates and tackle issues of religious discrimination.
Erdman said, “Intelligence community leaders and senior analysts downplayed the possibility that the coronavirus pandemic started as a result of a lab incident. Given the motive, it is difficult to define the motive…”
Critics have raised eyebrows at the timing of this testimony, which came right after the window for legal action against Fauci closed. Many are questioning why such significant revelations weren’t made earlier. Still, the hearing focused on transparency and government responsibility. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) stated that analyses in 2021 and 2023 pointed to a lab leak as the most likely origin of COVID-19, suggesting Fauci played a role in minimizing that narrative.
Paul remarked, “Dr. Fauci convened the now infamous February 1st, 2020, conference call. Some scientists on this call expressed serious concerns about laboratory origins, yet those same scientists later co-authored a paper dismissing the lab leak theory.”
Additionally, Paul noted that members of the Biological Sciences Expert Group (BSEG) were researching COVID-19’s origins while simultaneously being involved in research that could have contributed to the virus’s creation.
“The stated purpose is to give intelligence agencies access to expertise on biological threats. But it raises concerns when those experts lack independence,” he pointed out, referencing collaborations with researchers in Wuhan.
He also highlighted how Dr. Peter Daszak, involved in these experiments, had received substantial funding from the U.S. government for his work with Dr. Shi Zhengli in Wuhan. Daszak played a role in a WHO mission investigating COVID-19’s origins, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest.
Paul stated, “When Congress asked these questions, government officials lied to our faces. They classified documents, suppressed information…” He added that the Biden administration instructed the CIA to hold off on releasing assessments until after the 2024 election, framing it as a cleanup operation rather than an actual analysis.
