NEA Donates Millions to Far-Left Organizations, Labor Filings Reveal
Recent labor filings have disclosed that the National Education Association (NEA) is contributing significant funds to far-left groups. Notably, they have made a $3.5 million donation to Education International, the organization where the NEA president holds a leadership position.
In light of the ongoing criticism regarding the NEA’s alleged prioritization of leftist agendas over children’s needs, a whistleblower shared some insights with Fox News Digital about the political climate within the organization. They described the NEA as predominantly liberal, with only a few conservatives on staff, who, for their safety, tend to remain silent. “It’s kind of intense,” the official said anonymously, “because if you speak up, well, it’s not safe for you.”
The whistleblower provided an unsettling portrayal of the workplace, likening it to brainwashing rather than constructive education. Meetings often revolve around themes of “social justice” and discussions of “white supremacy,” which the whistleblower found absurd. “This is a cult. If you disagree with their views, you’re seen as hostile,” they emphasized.
Earlier in the month, federal filings from the NEA indicated substantial financial support for left-leaning activist groups and voting campaigns. Among the hefty donations was that $3.5 million directed towards Education International, where NEA President Becky Pringle serves as vice president. The whistleblower questioned why funds would be sent outside the U.S., stating, “They are not American teachers.”
Further reports from November highlighted NEA training sessions that encouraged members to adopt various progressive ideals, including navigating workplace gender transitions and addressing transphobia. The materials even labeled conservative dissenters as “bad guys.” “They’re much more focused on promoting liberal Democrats than on supporting students,” noted the whistleblower.
Moreover, an email revealed a strong anti-ICE sentiment, with NEA Executive Director Kim Anderson condemning actions taken against immigrants, asserting that such measures harm students and communities. “Violent ICE raids are a significant problem that schools face,” the communication stated, labeling the Trump administration’s immigration stance as “un-American.”
Micah Hackner from the North American Values Institute expressed doubts about the NEA’s ability to represent its members fairly if they continue to embed specific political ideologies into the organization. The whistleblower also mentioned that the management seems overly concerned about collecting dues amid backlash, trying to shift members to autopay systems.
Following the 2024 presidential election, the reaction within NEA offices was reportedly somber, with many employees visibly upset. “Everyone had closed doors and were really upset,” the source recalled.
Erica Sange from Defending Education commented that the organization’s federal charter ought to be reexamined, arguing that the NEA has shifted focus from supporting educators to championing political causes that undermine educational objectives. “What once aimed to enhance education has apparently devolved into a far-left agenda,” she claimed.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the NEA for a response. Terry Stoops, the national director of Defending Education, remarked, “The NEA has significantly degraded trust in public education by prioritizing a political agenda over the needs of educators and students.”
