White House Claims CNN Is Spreading ‘Fake News’ Following Suggestion of Cabinet Changes

White House Accusation Against CNN Over Cabinet Reshuffle Claims

On Friday, White House press secretary Caroline Levitt accused CNN of intentionally spreading falsehoods regarding a possible Cabinet reshuffle in the Trump administration. She emphasized that the network had been informed multiple times that the allegations were unfounded.

CNN’s recent report suggested that many Cabinet members might soon exit, claiming that officials were preparing for a possible reshuffle next year. Levitt responded by stating that President Trump “couldn’t be happier” with his current Cabinet and accused CNN of fabricating drama to boost ratings.

“This article is 100% fake news, and the White House has told CNN this repeatedly in the strongest possible terms,” Levitt said. “Yet they wrote this article because ratings are in the doldrums and they thrive on drama that doesn’t exist,” she added, criticizing the outlet for its claims.

CNN has not commented on the matter when approached by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

According to CNN’s unnamed sources, there are indications of discontent within the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Energy. The outlet reported dissatisfaction with Homeland Security Chief of Staff Corey Lewandowski and Energy Secretary Chris Wright. Additionally, discussions reportedly revolve around Army Secretary Pete Hegseth, who faced scrutiny after mistakenly sharing sensitive information, and the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, due to her views on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

While both Hegseth and Gabbard remain in their roles for now, pressure for a replacement could heighten in light of an upcoming Pentagon report on the incident involving Hegseth, which might rekindle discussions about his position.

Levitt remarked, “No matter how much CNN wants it, the Cabinet will not change because it thrives on drama.” She has previously criticized CNN for other inaccuracies, including a report on Congressional Democrats not being briefed about an attack on Iran, which they later corrected.
