White House Correspondents Apparently Can’t Tell Black Women Apart In Embarrassing Mix-Up

The camera for internal feed at the White House correspondent’s dinner on Saturday was accidentally cut by the wrong journalist during a speech by the organization’s president.

Two participants at the event, co-hosts of a ruthless podcast Comfortablysmug Pack News co-founder Julia AifPosting to X was that the association mistakenly showed NBC News White House correspondent Yamiche Alcinder on an internal feed of Black Press USA Washington Director April Ryan. The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Carener News Foundation on reported mixups. In his remarks at about 10:10pm ET, WHCA President Eugene Daniels appeared to shake his head and mouth. He praised Ryan and made comments about giving the Danigan Payne Award to former President Ryan Bob Ellison.

Also, Alcindor appeared to notice the error, uttering “I’m not Ryan in April” while the camera in the internal feed mistakenly made her.

When we reached the comment, Ioffe confirmed to DCNF that an error occurred in the internal feed of the event.

CSPAN’s broadcast feed and MSNBC were not cut to Alcindor, but instead showed Ryan at her table during the event. comfortablesmug did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DCNF.
