White House doctor referred to cognitive tests as 'worthless,' according to Biden aide.

According to sources involved in a current lawsuit, Kevin O’Connor, a former doctor for the White House, previously dismissed cognitive tests as “meaningless,” which he communicated to House investigators on Tuesday. Reid, who was Deputy Chief of Staff for policy, is the latest in a line of former aides from President Joe Biden’s administration to testify before the House Supervisory Committee.

In discussions following his interviews, Reid suggested that Biden’s performance during the ill-fated 2024 debate against Donald Trump was due to the former president’s tired demeanor. This was surprising to Democrats and media analysts alike. There has been mounting pressure from some leftist lawmakers urging Biden to withdraw from the race.

In response to ongoing investigations, Comer has rejected O’Connor’s requests to pause the inquiry, stating he is “dropping all excuses.” When it comes to public concerns about Biden’s mental acuity, sources indicated that Reid believed Americans should not be worried about the former president’s capabilities. He also mentioned that the president’s communication team is expected to address issues surrounding cognitive testing.

Reid noted that O’Connor had dismissed the cognitive tests as “meaningless,” and O’Connor was one of the first former officials summoned by House investigators. His testimony lasted less than an hour, during which he invoked the Fifth Amendment to refrain from answering most questions, citing concerns about patient confidentiality.

During another interview, Reid defended Biden’s campaign strategy of initiating debates earlier than normal for presidential elections. He emphasized that this approach was a calculated effort to promote early voting and had nothing to do with worries regarding Biden’s age.

In statements shared during his investigation, Reid highlighted Biden’s cognitive abilities based on his own experiences working closely with the president. He remarked that, despite Biden’s age, he demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to complex policy matters.

Reid also mentioned Biden’s tendency to rigorously question his staff, ensuring confidence in their advice. He stated that Biden’s governance has consistently adhered to his own values and instincts. The pressures of the presidency are significant, and Reid expressed respect for Biden’s capacity to make demanding decisions during tough times for the nation.

Chairman James Comer is leading an inquiry to determine whether senior Biden aides engaged in a cover-up regarding evidence of the former president’s mental decline. Central to this investigation are various executive orders claimed to have been signed by Biden later in his presidency. Reid and O’Connor’s legal representatives have yet to respond to inquiries about their involvement.
