Memorial for Charlie Kirk Draws Over 100,000 Attendees in Glendale

This Sunday, Glendale, Arizona, will host a significant memorial for Charlie Kirk, with attendance expected to surpass 100,000 people. The event will feature various speakers who will reflect on his enduring influence.

Among the speakers are Savannah Chrisley, a former reality TV star, conservative activist CJ Pearson, and political commentator Alexis Wilkins. They are set to address Kirk’s legacy, particularly his emphasis on Christian faith.

Kieghan Nangle, 22, who serves as the executive assistant to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, also contributed to the event. Nangle, a graduate from the University of Alabama, remarked on how Erica Kirk’s resilience serves as a beacon of hope for young women.

She highlighted the strength Erica displayed just two days after the tragic loss of her husband, stating that if Erica can stand firm, then everyone can rally around her to uphold Charlie’s legacy. Nangle added, “Charlie’s wonderful wife, Erica, needs the army behind her, and everyone in this country has what she needs to take a stand.” The couple married in May 2021 and have two young children—a daughter aged three and a son aged one.

Nangle spoke about how she became involved in Turning Point USA (TPUSA) during the Young Women’s Leadership Summit in Dallas, Texas, in 2021. She emphasized that the organization had a profound impact on her worldview, helping her to strengthen her beliefs and remain steadfast in her faith.

This sentiment appears to resonate widely with millennials and Gen Z, as many have turned back to church and expressed a desire for deeper spiritual understanding. Nangle commented, “The organization taught me how to root myself in my faith and to show pride in my country.”

Following Kirk’s assassination, TPUSA has reportedly seen a significant surge in campus chapter interest, with thousands eager to join. Nangle noted that the organization has been active on campus, engaging students and hosting events. “This organization was an outlet that I didn’t know I needed during college,” she reflected.

She expressed gratitude for Kirk’s influence in her life, indicating that she wouldn’t have reached her current position without his guidance. Just weeks prior, she had the chance to thank him for making a positive change in her life.
