White House adviser John Podesta will become America’s top climate diplomat after the high-flying John Kerry resigns this spring and cancels his endless tour of the world warning the world of impending doom.
“We must continue to address the gravity of this moment, and there is no better person to ensure we do so than John Podesta,” White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients said in a written statement. ” he said. washington post, CNN and the hill.

Kerry served as the United States’ climate diplomat for three years under the Biden administration and will now take on a role in the 2024 campaign.
The 80-year-old told his staff in January that he was committed to returning Biden, now 81, to the White House.

The former presidential candidate and secretary of state will likely remain in his post until late winter or early spring. according to Two people who know his message well.
He congratulated Podesta in a post to X on Wednesday.

UPI report Podesta, who joined the Biden administration in September 2022, is currently overseeing Biden’s Anti-Inflation Act, which has spent billions of dollars to accelerate the country’s transition to clean energy such as wind and solar. .
Previously, Mr. Podesta served as former President Barack Obama’s top climate adviser and was involved in the negotiations that led to the Paris Climate Agreement.
Podesta chaired Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and served as White House chief of staff under former President Bill Clinton.
