Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) participated in a vice presidential forum on Tuesday, claiming that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) is a better debater than her running mate, former President Trump.
Whitmer also praised Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (Democratic), Harris' running mate, during an appearance on the late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday. he said before praising his Republican counterpart.
“I think he's feeling good,” Whitmer told host Jimmy Kimmel of Walz. “I think he's relieved that it's over. That's what we all do when we leave a debate. He really is. I think I did a good job.”
“You know, J.D. Vance was a better debater than Donald Trump,” she continued. “Donald Trump should have learned a lesson from him.”
Whitmer added, “But I think Walz brought it home. I think he brought the W.”
The two vice presidential candidates faced off for the first time Tuesday night in New York City in a debate hosted by CBS News. According to viewers, Vance gave a good performance during the showdown. He pursued Harris' policy record but remained calm in the face of pressure.
