The Memphis Zoo showed its support for the Memphis Grizzlies and the NBA Draft with edible, animal-safe paints painted on canvas by Nicklaus, a 16-foot-long, 2,900-pound giraffe.

1. How did Banksy become famous?
Banksy is thought to be from Bristol, England.
Banksy rose to fame as a graffiti artist, spray painting stencil designs around Bristol.
Despite his unknown identity, Banksy has received high praise, including being selected as one of Time magazine’s “100 most influential people” in 2010. In a photo submitted to the magazine, Banksy is hiding his identity by wearing a paper bag over his head.

Banksy has also made a name for himself in Hollywood: in 2006, one of his works was featured in the film “Children of Men.”

In 2010, Banksy directed a documentary called Exit Through the Gift Shop, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
2. What was Banksy’s first painting?
Banksy’s first work was a stencil mural called “The Mild Mild West.”
The work was painted in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol in 1999.
The mural shows a teddy bear holding a Molotov cocktail, preparing to throw it at three riot police officers.
Since then, Banksy has produced many well-known works, including “Pulp Fiction,” a painting of a scene from the 1994 film “Pulp Fiction,” and “Love Is in the Air,” also known as “The Flower Thrower,” which is on the wall in Israel’s West Bank.

3. Who is Banksy?
To date, Banksy has never officially revealed his true identity, but theories about who the famous artist is have swirled for decades.
There is also a theory that Banksy is Robert Del Naja, the frontman of the band Massive Attack, a theory that has arisen mainly due to the fact that murals by the artist have appeared in locations where the band has performed.

Interest in discovering the artist’s true identity continues to grow, especially after a 2003 interview with a BBC reporter resurfaced in 2023. Banksy’s face was not revealed in the video, but when the reporter asked if his real name was “Robert Banks,” the artist replied, “Robbie.”

One of the most popular speculations is that Banksy is Robin Gunningham, with Jamie Hewlett and Neil Buchanan also suspected of being the infamous artist.
Despite published speculation and calls for proof, the artist has never revealed that he is any of these people, or anyone else.
4. What is Banksy’s most expensive piece of art?
Banksy’s most expensive piece is called “Love Is In the Bin.”
According to Guinness World Records, the work was sold at Sotheby’s in London on October 14, 2021 for £18,582,000 ($25,327,400).
This iconic piece of art started out as the famous “Girl with Balloon.” As soon as it was sold, the piece began to move downwards in the frame and split into pieces. There was a shredder built into the bottom of the piece that made this shocking trick come to life.

Originally, the piece featured a young girl with her arms outstretched towards a heart-shaped balloon that seemed just out of reach.
When it was sold in October 2021, the bottom half of the work had been neatly sliced into a strip, leaving only the heart balloon exposed.
