Christy Pierce Rampone Discusses Her Divorce in Latest Episode of Special Forces

In a recent episode of Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, Christy Pierce Rampone shares her experiences regarding her challenging divorce with the director’s staff.

The former professional soccer player, who accumulated three Olympic gold medals and two FIFA Women’s World Cups, revealed that she returned to the pitch just three months after giving birth to her daughters. When questioned about her husband’s whereabouts, she simply stated, “At home.”

“I was the main provider every day, and honestly, I was just exhausted trying to manage everything,” she reflected. “Then I’d come home and we’d be arguing. I think feelings faded over time because, well, when you’re married but apart, things change.”

Christy expressed her “embarrassment” over the facade of being “happily married.”

“I captained the national team for eight years, projecting strength, but internally, I was struggling to leave my marriage. After retiring, it became clear that it just wasn’t working out,” she recounted. “The divorce was exceptionally messy. I feel like I haven’t been able to move on and find happiness.”

So, who is Christy’s former spouse? And what insights did she share about their split when she connected with Decider? Read on for the details.

Who is Christy Pierce Rampone’s Husband?

Christy Pierce Rampone was married to Chris Rampone from 2001 until their divorce in 2017. They have two daughters: Riley, aged 21, and Reese, aged 16. While Chris’s current activities are unclear, he was last known to be an assistant baseball coach at Monmouth University during the 2005 season. He previously coached at Montclair State University in 2003 and 2004 and at New Brunswick High School in 2001 and 2002.

During a recent conversation with Decider, Christie also discussed her experiences in a mirror room scene with DS and revealed that she has a restraining order against her ex-husband.

“I’ve faced some trauma in my life,” she conveyed. “The divorce was tough and, unfortunately, I’ve had to put a full restraining order in place against my ex.”

“I decided to share some of that information because it felt like the right time to be open about it,” she added. “After I retired, the last eight or nine years became incredibly turbulent. Getting everything off my chest felt like my own form of therapy.”
