JJ McCarthy is ready to move on to the next chapter with her future husband and NFL quarterback.
The Michigan product, who won a national championship with the Wolverines in January 2024, is one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
When McCarthy hears his name called on opening night of the NFL Draft on April 25th, he’ll likely have his fiancée, Katia Klopas, by his side to celebrate.

The relationship between McCarthy and Klopas It all started back in 2018 when the quarterback attended Nazareth Academy in Illinois.
He transferred to IMG Academy in Florida in 2020 after Nazareth canceled its football season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Klopas supported McCarthy on game day at Michigan when McCarthy beat Cade McNamara to win the spot and was named the starter at the start of the 2022 season.
He and the Wolverines made it to the College Football Playoff at the end of the season, but lost to the TCU Horned Frogs in the Fiesta Bowl in January 2023.
One season later, McCarthy and the Wolverines advanced to the national championship, defeating the Washington Huskies 34-13 to win the program’s first title since 1997.
He kissed Klopas in the stands after a win at Houston’s NRG Stadium in January 2024.

In January 2024, Klopas gave a sweet shout-out to the couple’s pup, Marley, on Instagram, shouting, “Me, you, Marley, forever.”

January 2024 was a busy month for McCarthy, who also declared for the NFL Draft.
In a message shared on social media, the 6-foot-2 signal-caller spoke glowingly of his “soulmate” Klopas while detailing his decision to leave Michigan State after three years.
“Dearest, Katia… You are my soulmate, my best friend, my rock. I am so happy to be your partner now and always. I am so excited to continue our journey together. I’m excited,” McCarthy wrote.
He finished the 2023 season throwing for 2,991 yards, 22 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
The newspaper’s Steve Serby predicts the Vikings will acquire McCarthy in a trade with the Chargers, who have the No. 5 pick.
