When will my Social Security payments be sent?
Generally, Social Security benefits are sent out on Wednesdays. For those with birthdays falling between the 1st and the 10th of the month, payments are made on the second Wednesday. Birthdays from the 11th to the 20th lead to payments on the third Wednesday, while those born after the 20th will receive theirs on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
For individuals who began receiving Social Security before May 1997, payments typically arrive on the third day of the month, unless interrupted by weekends or holidays. Those receiving both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) can anticipate Social Security payments on the 3rd and SSI payouts on the 1st.
