The View Co-Host Critiques Kamala Harris’ Campaign

On Wednesday, Whoopi Goldberg, a co-host of “The View,” acknowledged that former Vice President Kamala Harris needs to improve her campaign if she aims to beat President Donald Trump.

In a passage from Harris’ book, “107 Days,” she expresses her displeasure with President Joe Biden’s choice to seek reelection. Harris claims that his staff has undermined their chances of a successful campaign. Goldberg suggested that Democrats should stop looking back at previous mistakes and instead recognize that they could have performed better this time around.

“People are quick to say what we should have done… We needed to run a better campaign. It’s what the people wanted to hear,” Goldberg noted.

Goldberg also mentioned that Democrats ought to stay quiet about concerns regarding Biden’s mental acuity, while co-host Alyssa Farrr Griffin argued that they should have encouraged Biden to step aside earlier due to his age.

Co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin expressed that Harris faced challenges because voters were reluctant to support Black women.

Harris accused Biden’s personnel of fueling negative narratives about her staff departures and undermining her effectiveness. Despite her appointment to address border issues, she felt unfairly blamed for the ongoing border crisis.

While border encounters have reached historically high levels—exceeding 2 million in 2023, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP)—Harris has been labeled excessively responsible for this situation.

Meanwhile, many in the Democratic Party and media insisted that Biden was mentally fit until a public speaking moment revealed some confusion, leading to calls for him to withdraw from the race by July 2024.

Ultimately, Harris lost crucial swing states and became the first Democrat to lose the popular vote in November 2024 after 20 years of consistent wins.
