Whoopi Goldberg is puzzled by claims from both Democrats and Republicans suggesting that officials in former President Joe Biden’s administration concealed his mental decline.
On The View, Goldberg reacted to Biden’s recent cancer diagnosis while addressing allegations that his staff kept his deteriorating condition a secret during his time in office.
Goldberg pointed out the longstanding issues around trust, remarking, “Listen, he’s 83 years old.”
Co-host Sarah Haynes chimed in, saying, “No. He was running for the next four years.”
Sunny Hostin added in agreement.
Goldberg replied, “But, but I’m saying, I’m not you, but I want someone to tell me.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin mentioned that Biden and his team acknowledged the president’s difficulties after their first debate with Trump.
Recently, President Biden has been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer.
His office released a statement to CNN and CBS indicating that last week he was found to have prostate nodules after an increase in urinary symptoms.
“On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) and metastasis to the bone,” the statement detailed. “While this signifies a more aggressive type of disease, it appears to be hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management. The president and his family are in the process of evaluating treatment options with their medical team.”
