Whoopi Goldberg told her co-stars on ABC’s “The View” on Monday that she supports President Joe Biden staying in the presidential race “even if he’s incontinent.”
Goldberg said, “I wasn’t here the day you all were debating, so I’m just giving my opinion. I don’t care if he makes a gaffe or can’t construct a sentence. If he proves he can’t do the job, I’ll say, ‘OK, it’s time for you to go.’ He had a terrible night the first time he debated Kamala Harris, when everyone wanted him to go and said, ‘You shouldn’t talk to women like that’ and ‘You’re doing this and that wrong.’ He came back and said, ‘I get it,’ and gave him four years.”
She added, “So I have poop-filled days all the time. I step in more poop than you can imagine. Now, I don’t rule the world, but I don’t know anyone who hasn’t stepped in poop at least once. So I’m just saying: Yes, there are two debates, and if he doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do in the second debate, I’ll join the people who say get him out. But loyalty to me? If you’re in a job, I might not like everything you do. I don’t like everything. But I’ll stand behind you, like the people who would have stood behind the guy that people were talking about, ‘Yeah, Biden had a bad day, but this guy can’t tell the truth even with his lip split.’ But nobody’s saying that.”
