“The View” host Whoopi Goldberg defended President Joe Biden’s failing health on Monday, saying she doesn’t care if the president soils his pants, but what matters is whether he’s able to do his job as leader of the free world.
Goldberg’s forceful defense of Biden comes as he seeks to remain the Democratic nominee in the upcoming election. Biden is currently fending off calls from Democrats for him to drop out of the race after his disastrous first debate with former President Donald Trump. Biden has said multiple times since the debate that he’s not going anywhere.
“I am determined to stay in this race.”
“I’m just going to give my opinion. … I don’t care if he makes a gaffe or can’t construct a sentence. If he proves that he can’t do the job, I’ll say, ‘OK, it’s time for him to go,'” Goldberg said. “He had a terrible night the first time he debated Kamala Harris, and everyone wanted him to go, saying, ‘You shouldn’t talk to women like that, you’re doing this and that wrong.’ He came back and said, ‘I get it, so I’m giving you four years,'” she said.
“I have poop-covered days all the time. I step in more poop than you can imagine. Now I don’t rule the world, but I don’t know anyone who hasn’t stepped in some at least once. So I’m just saying: Yeah, there are two debates. If he doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do in the second debate, I’ll join the people who are saying get him kicked out,” she continued.

Biden sent a letter to congressional Democrats noting that he has already become the Democratic nominee in the primary elections and said he has no plans to withdraw from the race.
“Despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am determined to remain in this race, to fight to the end and to defeat Donald Trump,” he said.
