Debate on Human Rights Issues in Iran Heats Up on “The View”

This week on “The View,” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin sparked significant discussion over the serious human rights violations occurring under Iran’s Ayatollah regime.

She highlighted disturbing practices such as the execution of LGBTQ individuals and the arrest of women who attempt to leave their homes without a head covering.

“In Iran, they just drag gay people out of buildings,” Griffin remarked, making a point about the brutality faced by marginalized groups.

In a somewhat heated exchange, Goldberg responded, “That’s not comparable to our history. In this country, people were tied to cars.” She referenced a tragic legacy of violence against Black Americans.

Continuing the discussion, Griffin noted, “If right now in 2025 you wore this outfit and walked into Iran, it wouldn’t be received the same way.” Her assertion seemed to aim at illustrating cultural differences.

Goldberg countered her point, stating, “It’s the same,” and firmly added, “You’re not Black,” underscoring her perspective on racial issues.

Jason Whitlock, host of “Jason Whitlock Harmony,” expressed surprise at Goldberg’s stance, questioning the rationale behind allowing such a conversation on television in the first place.

Delano Squires, a Blazetv contributor, weighed in, stating, “Sometimes, when you’re fed for too long, you forget the actual feeling of hunger.” This comment seemed to touch on the disconnect some may feel from global hardships.

Whitlock shared his frustration, saying, “I’m being compared to women in these other countries. That’s just absurd.” He criticized ABC for permitting this narrative to be promoted on national television, suggesting they should feel ashamed.
