While radio host Charlamagne the God discussed President Biden's pardon for his son Hunter on ABC's “The View” Wednesday, co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked when Democrats got it wrong. He said he could not say whether there were any.
A partial transcription follows:
Charlamagne: I don't think people are unhappy with Joe. I think it's because the Democrats believe they don't represent what they currently represent, but that's not true. That's why I say they're standing on a moral high ground that simply doesn't exist, but I think this is also a problem when we choose sides, right? We have turned political parties into teams. I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan. No one is losing out more than me. I feel like I go to the Super Bowl every year, and I'm not delusional — well, it's a delusion — but when it comes to political parties, I'm a Democrat or a Democrat. Are you a Democrat? You say you're a Republican, but you refuse to be objective about anything.
GOLDBERG: The Democratic Party is not a monolith.
Charlamagne: Why can't Republicans say Democrats are wrong? And why can't Republicans say Republicans are wrong?
GOLDBERG: I'll tell you when the Democrats are wrong. I say it in the program.
Charlamagne: Don't you think Biden was wrong?
GOLDBERG: No, it's not.
Charlamagne: Well, that's ridiculous.
GOLDBERG: You're ridiculous.
Charlamagne: Mr. Goldberg, I didn't say you were being ridiculous. I would never do that. I just think that's weird.
GOLDBERG: Come kiss me.
