After Vice President Kamala Harris spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday, her opponent, former President Donald Trump, appeared on Fox News to respond to the speech.
Trump argued that Harris has the entirety of her term as vice president to resolve the issues she was allegedly “complaining about” during the speech.
“The biggest response is, why hasn’t she done what she’s complaining about,” Trump said. “All the things she talked about, doing this, doing that, doing everything, and she didn’t do anything. She could have done it three and a half years ago. She could have done it by walking out of this auditorium tonight, going to Washington, D.C., and closing the border. She doesn’t need a bill. I didn’t have a bill. I closed the border and I created the most secure border in the history of our country.”
He continued, “She could do all of these things, and she can still do them. She has four and a half to five months left. She could go out there right now. She could do all of the many things that she talks about and complains about. There’s a lot of complaints. She didn’t talk about China. She didn’t talk about fracking. She didn’t talk about crime. She didn’t talk about 70 percent of our people living in poverty. She didn’t talk about housing. And she didn’t talk about the trade deficit.”
“She didn’t talk about how, because she was in charge of border control, she allowed child trafficking to occur,” Trump added. “She was in charge of the most vulnerable border in the history of our country. This is an invasion. I was there today, Brett, you know, this is an invasion that’s happening on our border, our southern border. A total invasion. And now it’s starting at our northern border, through Canada. And she didn’t say anything about it, because she only talks and she doesn’t do anything. She doesn’t act.”
