Last year, as millions of Americans were preparing to celebrate the resurrection, President Biden took advantage of the opportunity to add a new holy day to the national calendar.
March 31, 2024 – Previously known as “Easter,” the Bidens will be double as “visibility transgender day.”
declaration It has been declared. (This was a different event from Transgender Day. Memorywhich of It fell on November 20th. ) “Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans,” the president wrote. “You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong.”
A year later, when Christians gathered again to celebrate one of Christians’ most holy holidays, the new president issued a very different declaration.
“During this sacred week, we acknowledge that the glory of Easter Sunday cannot come without the sacrifices made on the cross,” President Trump said.
I wrote it. “In his last time on earth, Christ willingly endured the unbearable pain, torture and execution on the cross from his deep and enduring love for all his creation. Through his suffering, we are forgiven our sins through his death.
What is the difference in one year?
This Holy Week commemoration of the Trump administration didn’t just hit a contrast with Biden. President Trump takes Easter more seriously than any other president in modern American history. That’s a good thing. Easter is the most sacred day on the Christian calendar, “Celebrating the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
This is not a radical idea. It’s also not the microholiday of the boutique left wing that I dreamed of in a sociology classroom five minutes ago.
More broadly, Easter is deeply rooted in the traditions and folklore of the American state itself. Some
80% Of the Americans, celebrate this holiday – almost two-thirds more than Americans Identify as a Christian.
Last week, me
The law has been introduced It would establish Monday as a federal public holiday. This has been delayed for a long time. Easter Mondays are already recognized as a national holiday in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most Western Europe. The US is one of the only countries in the West it’s not It officially recognizes that.
My bill, I was proud to introduce it
Rep. Riley Moore (rw.v.), to correct it and give millions of Americans the opportunity to celebrate more fully the critical moments of faith that have shaped our nation.
This simple addition to the federal holiday calendar is loyal, parental family and professional worker. March and April are the only consecutive months without official federal holidays. Federal Holiday adds a three-day weekend to the two-month stretch from President’s Day to Anniversary, providing an opportunity for American workers and families to gather and relax.
At the same time, it comes with its own economic benefits. Easter weekend has already generated around $15 billion for our economy. Over the three-day weekend, an estimated 10% to 15% increase economic activity by increasing economic activity by up to $2 billion.
This is not a radical idea. It is also not a left-wing micro-holiday to commemorate “trans visibility” or “Indigenous Mourning Day” that dreamed in a sociology classroom five minutes ago. It is a federal recognition of traditions closely related to our very ways of life, and is a tradition that already integrates more than three-quarters of Americans.
Over generations, many American school calendars have given students both Monday holidays, both Good Friday and Easter. There is already a “Prayer National Day” signed into law by Missouri President Harry Truman. The Monday Federal Easter holiday takes it a step further, allowing Americans to celebrate one of the most extraordinary days in world history, Easter – the Day of the Resurrection of Christ.
Our holidays and traditions are part of the stories we tell about ourselves. This is not a partisan idea. Easter is not a “Republican” or “Democrat” holiday. Easter is an American holiday. That’s when our federal calendar realises it that way.
