Jordon Hudson, Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, was in talks to join the latest season of “Dancing with the Stars,” but things didn’t pan out as hoped. It appears she wanted more creative control, according to reports.
An insider mentioned that “Jordon was supposed to be on the show, and there were delays. The producers knew they had a winner, but couldn’t sync up with her ideas.”
Hudson, a former cheerleader with a championship background, reportedly didn’t want to focus on her relationship with UNC football coaches or the controversies surrounding that, which is a bit surprising given the nature of reality TV.
The couple faced significant media attention after Hudson interrupted one of Belichick’s interviews in April.
It seems Hudson was keen on participating in a way that let her control aspects like picking her dance partner and scheduling practice. The insider indicated there was pressure to highlight their story, while Hudson wasn’t as keen on just making it a focus on her and Belichick.
Negotiations with Hudson were reportedly swift as “DWTS” looked to fill the lineup.
Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui has since joined the cast for the 34th season, which premiered on ABC recently.
Judge Derek Huff noted that some cast members had dropped out and things could have been chaotic if they had stayed. He hinted that he knew who backed out but couldn’t disclose details.
Neither ABC nor Hudson’s representatives responded to inquiries for comments.
It was earlier reported that Hudson had expressed interest in joining the show back in May, which may complicate matters as Belichick’s football commitments are likely to intensify.
On a recent Saturday, Hudson was seen supporting Belichick on the sidelines as North Carolina secured a decisive victory against Richmond.
Creative differences seem to be the real reason why things fell through with the show.
Hudson appears to be navigating some fallout from a complicated deal involving UNC and NFL projects, with the potential for serious implications for the football program.
Reportedly, Hudson desires a role as an executive producer and expects to be treated with respect, suggesting there might be tension surrounding the ownership of a coach’s narrative.
Belichick has mentioned that they met during a flight in 2021 and that Hudson is managing his interests outside of coaching.
