Kate Middleton has very little involvement in the complicated relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry, which has been strained for some time now.
Omid Scobie, a journalist known for his coverage of Harry and Meghan Markle, shared insights on the brothers’ fractured connection in a recent ABC News documentary focusing on the couple’s return to the UK.
Scobie doesn’t foresee any changes between William and Harry, even as some speculate that Kate might emerge as a “peacekeeper.”
“There’s often talk about Kate potentially being the one to bring the brothers together,” Scobie noted in the documentary. “But from what I’ve learned over the years, it seems Kate’s role in their relationship is quite minimal.”
He also suggested that things might be improving between Harry and King Charles III, saying the previously tense relationship now shows signs of “warmth” after a thawing of the initial “iciness.”
Erin Hill, the senior royals editor at People, shared her perspective on the documentary, noting that insiders have indicated William and Kate are adopting a traditional royal stance regarding Harry and Meghan’s UK return: “Keep calm, carry on, do the job.”
She added that at the moment, Harry and Meghan aren’t a priority for them, as they focus on their future.
Russell Myers, another commentator, mentioned that both Charles and William are completely aligned against the Sussexes representing the royal family, stating that there’s a clear sense of agreement between them on this front.
Reports have indicated that William has distanced himself from Harry amidst the latest controversies surrounding the Sussexes.
The couple’s return has also stirred controversy regarding their children, Archie and Lilibet, who were withdrawn from school due to safety issues just two days after starting.
Royal insider Kinsey Schofield commented that the presence of the Sussexes tends to create distractions, which the royal family finds concerning. She emphasized that William has his own family to think about, including his three children with Kate: George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Schofield remarked that the Prince and Princess of Wales are striving to maintain stability for their children, especially as Prince George embarks on a significant new chapter at Eton.
