Chloe Kim, the Olympic snowboarder, shared some challenges about her dating experiences prior to meeting Myles Garrett, who plays defensive end for the Browns.
During a podcast episode titled “I’m not skinny, but I’m not fat,” Kim talked about how dating has been affected by her fame after she began seeing the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year a bit over a year ago.
“There’s definitely been a shift,” she explained. “Having my own house and being quite busy—people see me on Instagram and know who I am.”
She expressed some frustration, saying, “…it was tough. I felt like others just didn’t get what I was experiencing. I hope no one feels intimidated by my success. I’m not out here thinking I’m better than anyone else. I genuinely want to connect, but it feels like that’s not recognized. It feels unfair at times.”
Kim mentioned that she had a candid conversation about her dating struggles with a physical therapist at the 2025 X Games.
“I was like, ‘I can’t date anymore, it’s over, I’m going to be single forever,'” she humorously recalled. “I was really being dramatic, thinking, ‘Forget it, I’ll just get a sperm donor and be happy on my own.’ I just want to have kids and live life freely.”
She described her ideal partner to her therapist, saying that she wanted someone “tall, handsome, kind, and family-oriented,” ideally someone as or even more successful than her.
Her therapist, Vin, was actually a mutual friend who had previously worked with Garrett, which led to their introduction.
Garrett even came to Italy to cheer on Kim during the Winter Olympics.
Despite dealing with a torn labrum in her left shoulder during training, Kim secured a silver medal in the women’s snowboard halfpipe event at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.
She also noted that her injury would need surgery in the future.
On Tuesday, the pair was seen enjoying a game between the Lakers and Timberwolves from the courtside seats in Los Angeles.
