A lot has been analyzed about Shedeur Sanders’ skill set and persona ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
But as one NFL executive Recently broadcast on ESPNthe curious nature of the Colorado quarterback can be misunderstood as “a little bit of combat.”
“The reason people are so sad about him is that when you talk to him, he’s just not,” said an unknown executive who met 23-year-old Sanders.
“He’s a very thoughtful person. Sometimes he fights a little because he asks questions. He really wants to think about what you’re saying. He’s not really a yes man. He really has his own ideas.”
Sanders, son of NFL Hall of Fame Deion Sanders, sparked buzz from the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this year following a report from NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry That said“I talked to two people on two different teams that I met with Sanders, and they were saying the exact same thing. They said they were both bad meetings and he said he was indifferent and not expert.
The berries then expanded. “These were just two people. Maybe the others at the meeting had different readings. And since these were teams that didn’t want to go to Sanders, he might have fought the meeting intentionally.
Saunders’ draft stock, considered the most polarized outlook for this year’s class, is everywhere as the first round approaches, with analysts and experts experiencing the difficulty of predicting where a 6-foot-1 prospect can potentially land.
Eric Garco, director of the East West Shrine Bowl, who knows Sanders, repeated similar sentiments from NFL executives.
“95% of quarterbacks come to the NFL. They just do whatever it takes to win the Super Bowl. Whatever you say as a coach, Deion is a good friend of people like Roger Goodell and Michael Irvin.
“I have that attitude no matter what, if I take that attitude, the team knows how to evaluate the character and ask questions to get the answers they need. And some people have found some challenges for Chedur.
Miami quarterback Come Ward is widely expected to land alongside No. 1 Titans, even hinted at 22-year-old Fortnite Stream earlier this week, but Sanders held a private workout on Thursday, linking with other QB Needy clubs.
The Giants will pick third in the draft and choose one slot after the Browns.
Giants general manager Joe Shane said in a media session Wednesday that the team would not “force” the picks at that position.
“If the value matches what the player has, then there’s an opportunity to take,” he said.
The Giants added the quarterback room this offseason by joining veterans Russell Wilson and Jamaice Winston with Tommy DeVito.
