The San Francisco 49ers were picking the 149 for the fifth round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but you might not notice it when it happens.
In 2022, the 49ers discovered that the book had an end-of-season accounting error. The team misreported total player compensation for the NFL, but a league review found that the team is still lower than its 2022 salary cap. So, it was truly a clergyman’s mistake, but the league had to collect penalties in the future to ensure that no accounting errors occurred.
The NFL forced the 49ers in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, losing four spots on the pick at the end. They eventually took cowling with WR Jacob on the pick, but it was tough to realize San Francisco had been punished.
Additionally, the league won the team’s fifth round pick in 2025. This is what you’ll see on Saturday. However, like last year, the 49ers own the Saints’ original fifth pick, which will be held in issue 147, so it may be difficult to notice the lack of picks.
That pick came as a result of the Devo Samuel trade with Washington. The commander picked the saint in the fifth round and sent it to the 49ers. Therefore, the 49ers are still in the round about being selected in the fifth round, not the original choice.
Few teams are on the NFL wheels and deal with draft picks like the San Francisco 49ers, so it’s easy to get lost in the picks you actually have. Choose to have NINERS in the 2025 NFL Draft.
